Any tips on drawing black hair?

I always seem to have a hard time drawing black hair. Whenever I try to draw it, it always comes out smudgy and weird looking. Any tips?

It depends... what are you drawing the black hair with?

I'm drawing it with a pencil.

Try to make a lot of lines in the direction the hair is going and layer it. If you want to fill in the hair fully, make light reflection visible. I usually layer the hair xD
